The astrology of attraction (Aries through Virgo)
Obviously attraction between individuals is built on many complex factors. In a general sense, however, the element of a sign will dictate which people someone finds attractive. People who have a lot of earth energy are more attracted to earth and water signs and vice versa, while those whose charts are dominated by the element of fire tend to seek other fiery types or air signs, who in turn love to feed the flames of fire.
While we there is no guarantee that someone will find you attractive based on compatible sun signs, the information below provides a sort of quick and dirty guide to the fundamentals of relationships through the zodiac.
Aries
People with a heavy Aries influence in their charts are most likely to find Gemini, Leo, Sagittarius and Aquarius attractive. Less likely to choose a mate who is a Cancer or Capricorn. May feel a sense of complementarity or push-pull, conflict/desire towards Libra. Exception to the elemental rule for this sign is Scorpio, since in traditional astrology both are ruled by Mars.
Taurus
Individuals with Sun, Moon, Ascendant or multiple personal planets in this sign often seek mates who have strong natal chart influences of Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn or Pisces. Taureans rarely have long-term relationships with Leos, Sagittarians or Aquarians. Taurus and its opposite of Scorpio tend to find each other grating.
Gemini
People born under the sign of the twins enjoy the energy of Aries, Leo, Libra and Aquarius. They rarely feel a spark with someone whose chart has a lot of influences of Virgo, Pisces, Cancer or Taurus. They sometimes mate with their opposite sign of Sagittarius, depending on other influences in both individuals’ charts.
Cancer
Cancer types are most likely to stay in relationships with Taurus, Virgo, Scorpio and Pisces people. They are usually incompatible with Aries and Libra folks. They often have a strong sense of complementary with their opposite sign, Capricorn.
Leo
Leonine individuals tend to want someone who either shares or can feed their fire so they seek out Aries, Gemini, and Sagittarius people. Unless there are other strong factors indicating compatibility, they are often bored by Taurus, Virgo and Cancer people. They may find it difficult to find common ground with their opposite sign, Aquarius.
Virgo
People with a heavy Virgo emphasis in their charts are most likely to choose mates from earth or water sign, particularly Taurus, Cancer, Scorpio and Capricorn. They are less likely to have lasting attachments to Gemini and Sagittarius, although sometimes they do have a sort of hero worship attraction to Leos. Most often Pisces and Virgo do not get along, unless the Piscean is very detail-oriented or the Virgo has a strong interest in spiritual or artistic matters.
